I’m Jeannette Longworth. I started the first Widemargin blog a couple of years ago, going through Genesis and currently Exodus. You can read how that began here. It’s a slow process, as I like to stop and smell the roses…there are so many hidden gems in the bible, but you have to look closely to spot them, and listen carefully to the Holy Spirit as he directs your attention and thinking. There are many other ways to study the bible, all very helpful – but this is one way I find really speaks to me. It always amazes me how the bit I’m reading links up with something from life today, and often challenges me to the core.
Well, once I got well into Exodus, I felt I needed to read some New Testament too, so the Widemargin2 is my response to that. Where better to begin that at the beginning?
I took early retirement after a happy career as a special needs teacher, to become a full time carer. My husband and I are soon to celebrate 40 years of marriage, and we have three children and three grandchildren, who are all wonderful people!
Don’t forget to order a copy of my book On the Margins of Genesis based on the Widemargin posts on that very special book of the bible. All proceeds go to support the missionary work of my daughter, Heidi Longworth, in Romania.
